Dr. Mary Williams opened Urgent and Primary Care Clinic of Clarksdale because there was no after-hours clinic within 45 minutes of Clarksdale, MS. She struggled at first, saying, “I am a nurse practitioner. I’m good at assessing and taking care of patients, but on the financial side, I was a zero,” She received a small business loan and began work with a management consultant from Communities Unlimited. Now Urgent and Primary Care Clinic of Clarksdale has hired a second nurse practitioner and has an expansion plan.
