Management Consultant –  Memphis, TN

Management Consultants provide direct one-on-one managerial assistance to small businesses both on-site and through virtual consulting supporting through video conferencing tools. Clients may be located throughout CU’s 7-state service area; however, the majority of clients will be within a 3-hour drive of the consultant’s home-base. Successful consultants possess strong financial and management skills, thrive in a team environment, enjoy serving entrepreneurs with a focus on empowering them to the point that CU’s services are no longer needed. CU’s mission is to serve entrepreneurs constrained by limited credit history, limited access to financial/managerial training or education, and/or lack of access to traditional financing options.

 Education/Certification Requirements

A Master’s degree is required, with strong preference for a MBA or a Masters in Social Entrepreneurship.

Must provide Authorization to work in the U.S.

Experience/Skills Requirements

3 years related work experience, business ownership experience preferred; Passionate about social and economic justice; Strong financial and management skills and experience; Excellent facilitation, writing, computer and analysis skill; Ability to work in a team setting. Must be accurate and detail oriented. Proficient in the use of a personal computer including software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook in a Windows environment; and, ability to use video conferencing tools (e.g. Skype, ZOOM, TEAMs) etc. Familiarity with cloud-based systems is a plus.

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout CU’s target market.

Must provide a valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance.


The salary is fixed and firm at $50,000.

Communities Unlimited offers generous Medical/Dental/Vision benefits with the organization paying the significant majority of the cost. Company paid long-term disability; automatic company 401K contribution once new hires are eligible; 401K match; 11 paid holidays; two weeks paid vacation awarded upon hire (Prorated based upon date of hire); new hires begin accumulating sick leave immediately upon hire at a rate of 8 hours per month. Communities Unlimited reimburses all employees for travel expenses.
