Senior Management Consultant  – Monroe, LA

Summary of Position

Management Consultants provide direct one-on-one managerial assistance to small businesses located throughout our 7 state target market, with primary emphasis in the region around their office location. Successful incumbents often are passionate about social and economic justice; possess strong financial and management skills; are excited to work in a team environment; and want to serve entrepreneurs desire technical assistance to start a small business or maintain/expand their current business. Our clients often must overcome barriers to their success including limited credit history, limited access to financial/managerial training or education, and lack of access to traditional financing options.

Education/Certification Requirements

Master’s degree is required, with a strong preference for an MBA or a Masters in Social Entrepreneurship. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Experience/Skills Requirements
6 years work experience is required. Prior business ownership experience or experience in a family-owned business is preferred. 

2 years of experience working with the Microsoft Office suite of software including some combination of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook is required.  Experience with Microsoft 365 cloud-based SharePoint and/or TEAMs is preferred. Experience working with Quickbooks is preferred.

Preference may be given for candidates that demonstrate prior experience:
− Working with CU’s target client base (e.g. underserved entrepreneurs in communities of color, rural town and/or areas of persistent poverty).
− Living or working in rural communities CU’s service area.
− Building relationships with local community leaders that lead to collaborative implementation of economic development activities that result in small business growth and development.

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout CU’s target market as conditions allow for travel. At this time, a majority of the work can be completed virtually.

3 years related work experience is required. Prior business ownership experience or experience in a family-owned business is strongly preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Administrative Assistant  – Fayetteville, AR

Summary of Position

The Administrative Assistant in the Environmental Services program at Communities Unlimited (CU) supports a program that provides critical technical assistance to small communities to ensure drinking water is safe, waste water disposal is sanitary, and both are done in compliance with federal and state regulations. For many small communities, the services available through our nonprofit impact every family and business in town.  Maintaining, repairing, upgrading expanding critical community infrastructure like water & sewer systems creates a lasting positive impact for multiple generations. Plus our staff are just great folks!

The Environmental Services program at Communities Unlimited provides this technical assistance, training and information in collaboration with the national Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP). CU is the southern regional partner and one of six regional non-profit organizations that together form the RCAP network serving all states and U.S. territories.

The Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support and reports to the Director of Environmental Services. The Assistant collaborates with program staff in all seven states to support program operations.

Successful incumbents possess excellent oral and written communication skills; are organized; pay attention to details; work well under competing deadlines and enjoy using computers, specifically Microsoft Office software and other Window-based computer resources to support a variety of administrative tasks.

Education/Certification Requirements

A high school diploma or GED/equivalent is required. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Experience/Skills Requirements

A minimum of 6 months of work experience is required.

Successful incumbents possess excellent oral and written communication skills; are organized; enjoying paying attention to details; work well under competing deadlines and enjoy using Microsoft Office software and other Window-based computer resources to support a variety of projects/tasks.

Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required. Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in use of at least two of the Microsoft Office suite programs from the list above.

The ability to keyboard at 36 words per minute with 96% accuracy is required. Keyboarding proficiency beyond the requirements is preferred. Prior data-base entry/use experience or 10-key experience may be preferred.

Travel may be required, as conditions allow, to occasional CU staff meetings or other occasional conferences/meetings. Travel by air, train, bus or personal vehicle may be required. When travel is required, travel expenses are reimbursed according to corporate policy.
