Quapaw, OK

Communities Unlimited began working with Quapaw, Oklahoma, in the mid-2000s. They needed an alternate water source and were able to secure emergency funding from USDA. CU was asked to assist them in meeting all the funding requirements. A few years later, Quapaw was hit by a tornado and struggled to repay their USDA loan. CU worked with them to refinance their debt, and the water system is sustainable to this day. CU has collaborated with the city on a recycling program and economic development funding.
